Cypherpunk and I chose track two for these video weeks – to make a larger video project… well, here it is:
Behind the Scenes
Cypherpunk had the amazing idea to make a continuation of our radio project, and we were both committed from the start. We spent time writing the script, trying to set the scene of a world that has survived the apocalypse and gone back to normalcy. It’s hard to imagine life can keep going on after the virus, and it’s hard to face those who symbolize that time. The project highlights the relationship between former Talk Shit Show sponsor, professor James, and one of its former hosts, Cypherpunk.
I would consider that video and acting (emotion) are two of my weakest points, so this project was a challenge. I tried to bring my best to the table because my partner is great at both of these aspects. I learned a lot about video editing within Final Cut – compounding clips, applying chroma keys, applying filters, cropping, and methods of cutting/transitioning. Video is challenging, but pretty fun – I’d like to do more with it!
We used the Advanced Video Production Studio in the HCC to film all of our footage. Cypherpunk blurred the background of our initial drops, making them look very real (in my biased opinion). There’s one scene where the camera whips from me to Cypherpunk, and we had to do some fancy editing to make it work out. We both took turn whipping the camera because it was only us two in there.
Seriously, a big thanks to Cypherpunk – she’s very talented. I hope anybody viewing enjoys!
